Stay ahead of your competition by using Seekdown to monitor competitor websites and online news. You can automatically crawl competitors’ pages for changes (like pricing updates or new product launches) and use AI to summarize the findings.
Log in to Seekdown and create a new Data Capture job
Choose the option to crawl a website (e.g., "Retrieve Contents from Website").
Enter the URL of your competitor’s site or a specific page, such as their pricing or product page.
Configure crawl settings like depth or page limit to focus on relevant sections.
In the job settings, add an AI Prompt that will run on the page content after each crawl. For instance, you can write a prompt to summarize any changes or important updates on the page (e.g., “Summarize the pricing information and note any differences from previous data”). Seekdown will store the AI-generated summary alongside the raw content.
Execute the crawl job to get an initial baseline of the competitor’s content. Review the captured data in the dataset. Next, schedule the job to run at regular intervals (daily, weekly, etc.) to ensure continuous tracking of changes over time.
Seekdown may allow you to configure notifications when data changes. If available, turn on email or dashboard alerts so you get notified whenever the crawler detects a significant change.
Each time the job runs, check the output dataset. Seekdown stores the latest content and the AI-generated summary of changes. You can also download the data for further analysis.
